#Info Resumption of IT service operations at Elabs AG

Elabs has had full control of its IT systems again since August 18th. Ten days earlier, a hacker group operating from St. Petersburg and supported by Russian government circles had infiltrated parts of Elabs’ IT infrastructure as part of a cyber attack. From that point on, the business activities of Elabs and its customers were severely affected.

Immediately after the attack became known, Elabs took all necessary defensive and damage limitation measures. With the support of external cybersecurity experts, the company conducted an extensive analysis and investigation of the security incident. These are ongoing and are expected to be completed by the end of September.

We have informed the responsible authorities about the incident and are in close contact with them. The company is aware of its data protection obligations and, in consultation with the relevant data protection authorities, has taken the necessary steps to fully comply with them. According to the current state of knowledge, there is no impairment of IT systems of third parties.

As part of the post-processing of the incident, targeted measures to harden our IT systems have now been initiated or have already been implemented.

We are doing everything in our power to restore our customers’ business activities as quickly as possible.
